So another house kind of accidentally followed me home. A strange, gorgeous little house.
The owner photos didn't look like much. But I thought it was cute.
The little house reminded me of the chunky construction of some of the houses at Tiny Town, which I love. So I was drawn to it, and thought that must be why.
The scale of the door and porch is off, but I still think it's super cute.
From the side, a LOT like a "Tiny Town" building, I think.
I was not prepared for how interesting the inside was. You couldn't really tell from the owner photos.
And the outside is cuter than I thought too. Even if I'm not sure what to do about that missing roof panel.
I am in love with the rafters.
My friends think this may have been a college assignment for a design or architecture class maybe. I don't think I'll ever get to really know what the story behind this house is. But I wish I did.
I think that if you didn't know this was a dollhouse, this picture might make you might think this was a real house!
The floors are rough, but I think that makes them extra charming.
The lady who had it before had gotten it at a church yard sale for her two young daughters. But, to be honest, I don't think this house is safe for kids.
See those little black things? Those are nails. Every piece of siding and shingle is nailed on, and the sharp, little black nails, all come through the back side.
But I am an adult, crazy in love with the framing of this dormer, and I am going to play (safely) with my little palace of tetanus. :)
However, before I play with the inside, there's work to be done to the outside for sure.
The doorway is a weird size, but I don't mind. It fits the pixies and that's all that matters to me.
It could definitely use some paint, some steps up to the porch (that is one HIGH foundation).
But the main structure is solid and sound, and I have some ideas for what kind of place this could be. So... we'll just have to see what this strange little house becomes.
I am so glad it followed me home.
I am a dollhouse magnet, and I love it. :)
