New Book Saturday and That September Show Thing

One of the things I want to do with this Etsy shop for April is release a new book every Saturday.

I don't know if this is a good idea or not, so I guess we'll see how it goes. :)

Every time I make a new book, I find myself thinking "OH! This is my favorite!" But this week's book really is one I'm very excited about.

This week's book is "Three Adventures of Punky Dunk" (shown here in 1:10 scale, also available in 1:12).

Punky dunk is a kitten with a nose for trouble.

The book includes three adventures of Punky Dunk: Punky Dunk and the Spotted Pup, Punky Dunk and the Gold Fish, and Punky Dunk and the Mouse.

These little stories were originally published in the Philadelphia Public Ledger in the early 1900s.

They were published flat, on a double printed newspaper page, with instructions for folding them up and binding them with yarn to make a little book.

I was enchanted with these the second I saw them. I love the illustrations.

So anyway, that's what I've been up to. Figuring out books for the next 4 weekends. Well, that and...

It's about time to start thinking about the Denver Museum of Miniatures Dolls and Toys' annual "Fall Show."

Last year I brought a bunch of Midnight in the Dollhouse stuff and sold it at the Norm's Dollhouse table. It was GREAT!!

So do I do it again? Do I do it on my own? Do I share a table again?

I have things to contemplate, for sure. Well, and a boatload of stuff to make if I'm really going to do this.

Anyway, that's what's going on in my world right now. I promise this won't always be a "sales" blog, those are just the things at the forefront right now. But I still have houses to play with and finish (like that FAO Schwartz house. Oh... it's still here. Just waiting... And then there's Katie's House, which is ALSO still here, just waiting for some love and attention)

And I think I just landed a full time job (starting on the 22nd). So... BUSY! BUSY! BUSY!

Any thoughts on shows, books, houses, or anything I would love to hear! Tell me what you think in the comments! Thanks for coming and checking out my adventures, such as they are. More mini madness soon! :)

  1. Your little book is a Small wonder! I have never heard of Punky Dunk before but I love the vintage illustrations, which reminds me very much, of Dick and Jane and their kitten named PUFF.

    1. Hey, Elizabeth! Thank you! I hadn't ever heard of Punky Dunk either, but when I saw the stories I was immediately smitten with the little black and white kitty. I'm not super familiar with Dick and Jane (and didn't actually know they had a kitten. I knew about Spot, though. :) ) so I'll have to check that out.

Thank you for stopping by and commenting! Have a great day!
